Keena

Hi! My name is Keena and I am the Shelter mascot. I came in as a stray and am still working on fattening up. It wasn't long before the nice people at the Humane Society realized that I am completely deaf. Many white boxers are born deaf because of a genetic defect. The staff here decided to keep me around to show people that deaf dogs can be trained sign language and can be productive canine citizens too! Although I am a boxer, I think that I am a lap dog and like to sit on the laps of the staff as they try to work. I am learning so much here and can't wait to go out and meet new people in the community.

My name's Pepper and I'm the Shelter Cat. I'm a happy-go-lucky fellow who loves hanging out at the front desk and greet visitors! My favorite spot to lay is in front of any of the computer monitors that the staff is forced to pay attention to me!
